Trans-Pacific Eastbound Market: Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) Update Effective 1 October 2020

With reference to our previous advisory dated 1 June 2020, please be advised that APL will apply the following Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) – also known as Bunker Surcharge (BSC) – for long-term contracts of more than 3 months' validity, effective 1 October 2020.

The quantums and service scope for BAF applicable from 1 October 2020 until further notice, are as stated below:

Origin: Asia, Australia, East Africa, Middle East, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, West Asia(1,2)
Destination: Canada, USA (except Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands), Hawaii

*Weight/ Measurement: Price per metric ton (1,000 kg) or per cubic meter (35.3 cubic feet)

Note:
1. For cargo discharging via West Coast port, Alaska ports, Vancouver, B.C. and Prince Rupert, B.C.
2. This bunker surcharge (BAF03) is applicable to any service contract or tariff rate item that has validity greater than three months and not subject to bunker surcharge (BAF08).

Destination: Canada, USA (except Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands)

Note:
1. For cargo discharging via Atlantic-Gulf Coast ports and Halifax, N.S.
2. Would also apply for cargo discharging via Port Everglades, FL
3. This bunker surcharge (BAF03) is applicable to any service contract or tariff rate item that has validity greater than three months and not subject to bunker surcharge (BAF08).
